Default Heat Riser Question..

What is the downside of removing the Heat Riser on my '78 ? It is not driven in cold temperatures.

I am installing side pipes. I am not using headers, but coming off the stock exhaust manifold.

None that I know of. It is for helping starting when cold.

I don't think it will be a major problem, but the car will take longer to warm up. You do need either a heat riser valve or adapter on the right side manifold though, I don't think you will be able to make a connection there without one or the other.

Take'er off! I've removed mine and haven't noticed any difference. I actually went thru the trouble of replacing a broken one before just removing it...
