Default 69 Vette Engine swap question

I want to replace the 350 engine in my Vette. I have the short block from my 90 L98. Are there any issues installing this 90 engine in the 69 and mating it to the TH400 tranny?

I looked at complete engines, but I was thinking I can get get a good set of aluminum heads, a more aggessive cam (hot cam) and put this roller block together and have better performance for less cash outlay.

Going with a carb setup and Hooker side pipe headers. The computers are just too much trouble reprogramming the chips. Since it is a 69, I can stay with carburetion. I have an electric fuel pump and filter setup.

Suggestions or better ideas??? Thanks

I've swapped a LT1's and am currently working on a LS1 swap. All modern engine swaps into C3's are worth while. Go with a overdrive tranny (auto or manual).

Other than the flexplate must match the engine (1 pc vs: 2 pc rear seal) and there is no fuel pump boss on your late engine there are no issues. Are you going to keep the TPI or put a carb?

Default Using L98 as Replacement

Corvette Fever is doing a series of articles called "Project Shark Attack". The original L48 will be replaced with an L98, but stroked to 383 CI. We want better fuel mileage so we will use a Holley 950 Commander TBI with a Holley intake manafold. Your carburetion should be just as easy to do with the plus of less valve cover leakage and the newer 1-piece rear seal. Using an 87-91 L98 also puts you into roller cam territory for increased efficiency. Sourcing cylinder heads should be relatively easy. Have them re-done with a 3 or 4 angle valve job and a little pocket porting. With the right camshaft choice you can build plenty of torque and HP rather easily without breaking the budget.

You will have to use an electric fuel pump.
