Larger alternator?
My 1978 L-82 with a\c has a stock 63 amp alternator. I'm installing dual SPAL's which will draw down 30 amps. Will the alternator supply enough current to handle the draw with the a\c on, or do I need a 100 amp+ alternator? If so, which ones do you recommend that are a direct bolt on with little or no modifications, wiring as well.

Norval, did you have to beef up the red wire on the back of the alternator that's marked battery or did you use the stock 10 gauge factory wire?

Check out a local auto electric shop. I had my stock 63 amp alt.overhauled and upgraded to 100 amps. Cost me about $60.
