Default Seat Width

I would like to install a nice pair of seats in my C3. My vette mechanic told me that they need to be limited to 19" in width (side to side??). I am having a lot of trouble finding seats that narrow. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks

I've heard Pontiac Fiero seats work...if you consider those nice...I've never seen them up close.

Yeah, you are limited to what aftermarket seats you can get into a C3.

I know the Corbeau A4 and GTS seats fit, they are both reclining and the Forza seat fits (just!!...I have them in mine) but that is fixed back.

Default Seat Upgrades

We have used 78-82, 88-89, and 94-96 in C-3's. Clean up and use the C3 tracks and bolt the C4 seats to them. With proper measuring they will fit and be much more comfortable than the 1977 and earlier seats.

I needed narrower seats also so this is what I did..

While I am at it I also like to narrow the seat, I change the width from 19 ½ to 18 ½ by cutting and straightening the hinge. The stock hinge is curved to clear the sides of the seat by a lot, I want it 1 inch narrower so I do this modification. I want it narrower to give more seat to center counsel clearance and more clearance on the door side for the roll cage bar that runs low just above the sill from the trailing arm pocket to the front down tube and through the firewall

Thanks- The web site say that Corbeau makes a GTS II with a width of 20.5"...A4 @ 18.5" and Forza @ 20"

Do you know if 19" is really the hard limit?

Much thanks-
