I had half of one day over the weekend to work and I got the lower control arms gusseted with some 1/8" plate. I need to do the welding on the bottom yet.
I also layed out the front frame horn pieces to bend up on the brake. These will box in the front of the frame where the sway bar mounts.
And the big brown truck dropped off a couple of lengths of 7/8" 0.065 wall 4130 CM tubing and the Chrome Molly rod ends to make the front A arm tower brace. and a box full of 5/8 " CM rod ends seals, and half moon washers for the rear strut rods.
Looks really good. The welding of the lower A arm channels is difficult in that oil/grease comes out of the seams contaminating the weld. I make a first pass to boil out the junk and then a final pass to fix the first pass.
How about welding a plate over the hole behind the steering box?? I actually plate over a larger section then just the hole to reinforce the frame under the steering box.
'Forget it you have rack and pinion.
You are doing a nice job.
