Default Source for vacuum fitting?

Looking for an intake manifold vacuum fitting for a 79. All the aftermarket catalogs go up to 78 and then stop. The pice I have in now is a welded up rube goldberg of a set up. Contstantly breaking and leaking. Any help appreciated,
Thx, ESU in NY

Tom, thx for the site but no good. They also go up to 78 then stop. The one that covers 68-82 doesnt match up with the hoses I have. As far as I can tell I need one with 3 ports, 1 of which goes straight up for the tranny line.

They were my best bet..... Doc Rebuild has some (in catalog), as well as Zip... but I couldn't find yours there (online). Both web sites were a little vague.

I have the GM parts cats .... maybe a GM part number would help?

I've gotten vacuum fittings from my friendly neighborhood Chevy dealer. Make sure you work with someone willing to look up old parts.

This is a stock 1979 intake. Which fitting do you need?

What are you exactly looking for? I've got my original motor, intake and carb on an engine stand and would be glad to send you a minor part (freebie) if you'd pay shipping. My 79 intake has lots of vacuum lines and fittings. I'd be glad to spare a few to a Forum Brother or Sister.

Hey... I have one off an 80 that I'm about to put on my truck 305... that threaded hole on the drivers side just behind the carb bore..... was yours drilled & threaded originally?

Mine isn't. I have to drill & tap it for the trucks throttle cable bracket (different on a Vette).

Thx for all the replies. I tried Doc REbuild by phone and they dont have it.
I need the fitting that screws into the manifold right behind the carb. In between the carb and dist is the best way to describe it. It should have 2 ports at least, preferably 3. I'll pay any shipping costs plus a few bucks extra for a beer if it's the right one (3 ports).
ESU

I do have some build sheets, so if this doesnt work out I'll try Chevy.

Paul67,
The manifold you show has only 1 port straight up, thats for the tranny line, then there should be at least 1 other out to a side for the headlights etc. , Then one more probably for the cruise control. I'm trying to reconnect my cruise to see if it works , thats what started this whole mess lol.

ESU, try Gary Gruhala. His number is 636-586-3909 or email gruhala@jnc1.com. Tell him what you need, he may have a used part. He is a good guy and will charge you a fair price.

According to my GM parts cat., group 3.278, number 355786 was used from 1976 to 1982.

3/8-18 with 4 ports: two 3/16" and two 1/4". Note 1: cap unused outlets as required with 343350 cap

Looks like a good number on GM Parts Direct... but holy poo... list is about $54 and net is about $33.

The only other vacuum fitting listed for 1979 is 1369465 which is a single port like Pauls.

473381 is also listed but it is a reducing bushing apparently... 5/8-18 to 3/8-18. Probably used with the 355786.

If you don't care about originality and want function... the 3 port 77 manifold vacuum fitting should work just fine. Also, "Year One" sells a variety of vacuum fittings that will work for your application. I purchased a three port low profile (to clear Holly carb) metal vac fitting from them when I had my 77.
