Searching for the answer....
I cant figure it out.... I just recently installed headers in my '78, and replaced a few vaccume lines and such and all of a sudden 2 or 3 days after all that my car starts getting a rough idle. about every 5 sec it will jerk, a small bump as if it backfires/misfires or something and only while its at idle speed (curb idle), and it started idleing at 900rpm when not in gear. It still drives perfectly fine and i just cant figure out why it suddenly started that. any ideas ?

Almost sounds as if it has a vaccum leak. Maybe a cracked t fitting when you changed the lines. It just took a little driving to make it break enough to show up in idle quality.

its not the sparkplug wires or plugs, just replaced that and the coil, cap, rotor cause that was my first thought as to the problem. as far as the vacuum how would i figure out if it was that ? also cracked t-fitting could you explain what you mean by that?
