Hi Guys and Gals,
I just joined your forum and I think it's great. I've read a bunch and look forward to learning everything there is to know about my 'vette.
I just bought a 1976 Corvette yesterday. A lot of great work has been done to it, but on my trip back to home, the headlamp door started giving me problems.
With the door closed and when I really get on the gas pedal, I notice the doors rising a bit. When I got home and started to show-off to a friend, the doors went up and stayed up. They won't go back down....Any ideas?

You have a leak in the vacuum system. Start with replacing the silver vacuum valve. Follow the vacuum hose off of the port at the rear of the intake. The hose will go into a white check valve and then out into a silver valve that has one in and two out.
This valve goes bad and lets the one of the lights pop up after the car is turned off.
I've pin-pointed it to either the headlight switch or the hose from the switch to the check valve. There's a slow leak between the check valve and the override switch.
Thanks for you input!
