Have any of you guys had this done to your Vette? I have gigantic gaps around my windshield that can't be normal, though it has been that way since I have owned the car. I don't have any major leaks except the occasional obligatory drip from above the T-tops when I am in a torrential downpour. What have you guys paid to get your front glass reworked? Anyone? Last time I went to a glass shop concerning my Vette there was a lot of whincing and hemmin' and hawin' about how how the guy didn't want to do anything on the existing side windows with the Vette when it came to adjusting them. If they had been broken, he would have replaced and adjusted them but didn't want to adjust what was there. Of course, I was ready to go out and bash out both sides so I could get new glass and have them work correctly hitting the channels. The logic of the glass techs was rather odd I thought. I wonder if I will run into the same thing with a front window re-seal?

I called every glass shop in town trying to get my windshield resealed. None would do it unless I bought a new windshield. Said they couldn't get it out without breaking it. Finally, I did it myself. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be.
there is a special too that heats up the urethen that glues the windsheild in..and it comes right out...no stress or breaking....try calling a bigger auto glass co....but i just bought a brand new one foe my 81...cost me 220.00 installed
Had my 73's windshield resealed last fall, it leaked terribly in the rain. Found an auto glass man that likes old cars. He drove to my house, cut the old sealant with the wire rope, cleaned up the windshield and frame, and apply new sealant. He used a piece of cardboard to protect the interior trim as he went area the windshield. I had removed the exterior chrome trim pieces before he got to the house. The cost was $100 and it took about an hour. The big glass places did not want to touch the car because of the age and they would not guarantee not breaking the old windshield. The local fella did not guarantee not breaking the windshield, but said that there was little reason for it to break if the work was done right.
