Need to change my pump on my 77 but I can't figure out how to remove the pulley, it looks like I have a swedged on collar holding it on, anyone know a simple way of doing this? Thanks.
There is a special fitting with a bolt that grabs the pulley by that indented ridge. AutoZone & others usually let people use this tool with just a small deposit. It pulls the pulley without tearing it up.
I am pretty sure all the later year pumps are just pressed on pulleys. I need to take my pump off here in the next few weeks for a new one so I will be facing the same issue. Let us know how hard/easy and what you needed to do to get it off.
I am ordering all new hoses too. I haven't done any research yet as to removal / installation of the pump and hoses and the bleeding procedure for it all.
