I wish i had something that got over twenty mpg. 77 vette,94mustang gt conv.,98cherokee sport,98grand cherokee,98dodge quad cab4x4 they all love there fuel !
Currently paying equivalent of $3.40(US) a US gallon here. $3.75 for premium. My daily driver is a 68 Bonneville coupe 400CI/345hp running on LPG (propane to you yanks). It is about half to 1/3 the price of guzoline so it is quite cheap to run (comparatively ) If you set it up to run LPG only it has better performance as well.
Like Europe, we Aussies have always paid more for our fuel than the US, most of the price going to the government in taxes.
Unless you got the car for free, this was a bad move from an economic standpoint. It doesn't make any sense. I suspect you just really like Mustangs...
I (gasp) refinanced the 'Vette, and added the Mustang on to the loan, and actually cut my monthly payment. At $300/mo for gasoline alone, almost anything would have been a relief. . .
. . . hated going into debt further, and ain't a huge 'stang fan, but there's a blue million parts out there, and I can pull the maintenance on it myself.
It's power everything except the engine--the little 88hp, 2.3 is supposed to get 34 mpg, but it's by far the slowest car I've ever owned.
