Its been real. Its just not practical for the family situation right now. I wish I had a huge garage and lots of money then we would definatly keep it. Vettes will remain in our blood but this one has to go now. I put alot of effort into this car as well as money. Oh well I could ramble on and on so heres the link to the auction page.
That is sad. An awful lot of work went into that car. But I wish you well with the sale. Hope it finds a good and appreciative home. A Forum member would be nice.
Thanks guys. I havnt been on here much lately but I still remember all the great people, some of which I have met in person during various events. Maybe you will still see me hangin on here now and then. Of coarse I will have to change my forum name to vetteless.
Sorry you have to sell the Vette. It looks great and will make someone a nice car. Hopefully in the future you will be back into a Vette. I also, want to send my Best Wishes to you son who is proudly serving in the Marines. We are all indebted to these young men and women that protect our way of life.
They have a fee to start an auction, another fee for a 'buy it now' or 'reserve price' ... then they charge extra for photos and at the end they charge a percentage on the price that the item sells for.... it is not cheap at all ... but on the other hand: I sold everything that I put on Ebay....
Yeah, I was just wondering what his "listing fee" was, cause if it doesn't sell, that is what you loose.
The listing fee depends on you 'starting price' - that's why many start at $1 and say what the reserve price is.... many have a very low 'buy it now' and charge $$$ on shipping - this can still be a very good deal and the seller saves $$$ on Ebay charges....
If you don't sell your item, then you can re-list it at no charge.... of course they (Ebay) want you to sell so they can get more $$$
read all their info-pages before listing an item...
Cars are different that regular items as far as fees goes. Last Sept when I sold my Camaro, it cost me $40 to list it plus a few extra bucks for pics, headings, etc. Then if it sold, another $40. All told it cost me about $85 give or take, but I got what I wanted which was a few thousand more than I was offered locally. Was well worth it IMO.
Wow, sorry that you're selling it, but when you really want another one, you'll get it.
Thanks for all the great posts you've made. You've helped me a great deal. I hope you hang around in here to see what kind of trouble we get ourselves into. I'm sure it will be entertaining.
joshwilson3, I think what the others said is about right. The wife does all that ebay stuff. I think she said $50 to list and another $45 if it sells. It all depends on how you lay it out and what options you select. Its a grest way to advertise a car since you can have all the pictures and lengthy descriptions. Another good thing is the interactive capability. Bidders can ask questions. The seller, if they so choose, can post the the questions and answer them on the auction page for everyone to see as we have done.
isosceles, thanks for the complement. I am glad I was able to be of help to you.
There are 37 people who have the vette on thier ebay watch list at this point. I wonder if its gonna get active near the end. I hope so.
I could go out there right now and start that car and drive it across the country. Only problem I might have is if it rains the t-tops would leak.
Hello,
I can understand why you would be sad to see it go. After I read your "novel" about the car I was sad I didnt live in Maryland so I could buy it!. It looks like the classic green/tan combinatin, 2 sets of t-tops, rally wheels, and it obviously runs.....it should go quick. Both on the track on on the sale side.
