Rocker panel paint finish ?
Hey guys, just got around to refinishing the rocker panels on my 80 . I was wondering if anybody knows what the black factory finish was originally. I thought it was flat , but after painting it flat it does not look right. So now I am thinking it was possible a semi- gloss finish. Anybody got the lowdown on the proper look ? Thanx Brent

I don't know what the proper finish is but I painted mine semi-gloss then I sprayed them with clearcoat so they would last longer, they look great. 
The last time I did it I did not use the clear and they get paint chips in them very easy so I decied to try the clear coat this time

Bought a quart. Bought 3 foam brushes from Home Depot and for the last coat of POR-15 I used the wide one and it gave a perfectly smooth (glass like finish). Yes it's hard as nails and i have no worries about rocks, now the paint on the doors above that's another reason I haven't dumped $6,000.00 for paint yet.
