I want to recurve my the points distributor in my 68. Which distributor is it (Delco?)? Summit lists a pre 69 for Delco distributors. Will that one work?

I bought the kit from Summit. If LARS tunes your car he'll **** can yours for his homemade springs anyway. Suggest buying the SUMITT for now and later get a group together and fly LARS out. Best tuneup your car could ever ask for.
Cant afford LARS Not enough beer in the fridge.
Which kit did you buy? Was it springs + bushings + weights?

If you have a points-type distributor, buy Mr. Gasket part number 927 or 928. Throw away the weights that come in the 927 kit - use only your stock weights. In the kits, there are 3 sets of springs and a brass advance stop bushing. Install the bushing after you whack it with a hammer on its side to make it fit tight. Then, install one black spring and one silver spring from the kit. This will give you a nice quick curve that will make your car feel very responsive.
I bought a Mr Gasket kit for my 68 bigblock. I think it was the pre 69 kit but I don't remember. The weights did not fit, but my old weights seemed to be ok. There was also a bushing in there that I didn't use. There were 3 sets of springs and I used the lightest ones. I thought it was a bit expensive (around $11?) for one little set of springs which was the only thing I used out of the kit! But they did work and allowed me to bring my timing in much sooner.
