does anyone know how to unbond a cold air box from a hood without wrecking the paint on the outside. i'd like to put a custom polished air cleaner on. underside paint can be redone. the air cleaner won't fit with air box in place..
Just took one off of my buddies 69 to re-position it for a better fit with the air cleaner. We ground off the excess glue around the edge then carfully worked it loose with a wood chisel. There was no damage to the air box or the hood. His was an aftermarket hood with the airbox allready installed. The bonding agent that had been used was fairly brittle so the air box broke free with out to much effort.

You might want to purchase a cheap heat gun and use it to soften the bonding adhesive. Let me know if you want to sell your air box, as I am looking for one. G.
