I had bearing noises coming from the left rear bearing assembly area. As both assemblies showed no sign of replacement service (other than a replacement spindle on that corner... I suspect either the assembly was serviced incorrectly or it was still damaged), I decided that a refresh was a prudent course of action for both rear assemblies. Van Steel checked the tolerances and found that left rear spindle was damaged and the right rear spindle was not within the maximum safe tolerances.

Default stripped

I took a look last night and found that both the nut and the spindle were a little stripped. I bought a new nut and ordered a new die to re-thread the spindle and see how much torque I can apply. If I can't get it good and tight, I'll likely keep ruby in the garage. Im pretty confident that re-threading and a new castlenut will do the trick. I think if it is wouldn't tighten because threads on both the nut and spindle are a little rounded out. Looks like the new nut I bought would do the trick by itself. The die is supposed to come in this afternoon.
