I have a 030 over 350 chevy engine with 8.35:1 TRW Dished forged pistons and #186 heads . 202/160 valves in these 375HP double hump heads off of my 67 Chevy II 327 engine (64cc) .
Fuel will be provided with two 600's on a 671 Blower . Would like a little lope but not so radical that I would have to use a large stall converter because I would like to take road trips in this vette sometimes . Fuel has gotten mighty high .
Dont want to go with the ole 3/4 race sounding cam (268 comp) either .
Any suggestions would be appreciated .

Who needs a cam lope when you have a blower whine! I am running a GM L79 327/350hp cam. 222/222@50-- 454/454 ---114 center lobe. I was told this is a good blower cam by a friend. I am running it on a 82 crossfire(no blower of course) and getting 17mpg. It has a nice raspy idle but still mild. no trans mods on my 700r4. We go on 300 mile trips all the time. just my pick, but I dont know much about blowers or anything about roller cams that might be a better choice. cya
I'd maybe go with one of the newer cam designs. The older factory cam grinds were good for power, but there's been a lot of developments since the '60s. I've got a comp cams 268 in my Ventura, and I'd definitely not go any smaller. It's got a little lope at idle, but I've never had any problem with vacuum or mileage. I used to get pretty good mileage back in the day before I installed lower gears. I'd look at the comp cams 260 if you want something smaller, but I think you'd be happy with the 268. It has a nice rpm range and it's definitely easy to live with.

Naw , the 268 is the ole 3/4 race sounding cam and is ancient . I have used that cam on my old camaros and although I liked the performance ..... just not the cam I am looking for .
I have a Comp 256/268 Extreme energy Hyd Cam that will work fine and with smooth idle .

I was also told that I needed to go with a 114 center lobe on a blower engine . Wonder why ?
What brand of cam is it ?
