The two applications I have found for "CJD" are '71 350 270hp 4bbl carb, Turbo 350 automatic.

The other is for a '70 402ci 375hp 4bbl carb, special high performance, 4spd in a Chevelle or ElCamino.

Is it a bigblock??? The "T" SHOULD denote a Tonawanda bigblock

Jim, 11R173950 is part of a serial sequence number. "R" was the identifying plant character(don't know what plant "R" stood for), just as was "S" for St. Louis in Corvettes, "B" for Baltimore for Chevelle assembly, etc. The "173950" was the last six digits of the serial number of whatever vehicle this motor came out of. The "1" at the beginning was "Chevrolet Motor Division".
