Smart Strut Help ??
Has anyone had this problem with the Smart Struts? I'm trying to install a new Smart Strut on new offset TA assembly. The strut will not line up in the bearing support. The shock mount will go in the front side but will not line up on the back, because the outside metal of the strut is interfering with the cutaway lip on the bearing support. I have tried a punch and the old shock mount to align. You can see where the paint worn off of the strut end from rubbing on the bearing support. I hope I have clearly described the problem. This is ocurring on both driver and pass sides.
Can I grind the bearing support for more clearence or grind the end of the strut rod? Or as last resort go buy heim joints?
