Default fan switch question

I'm installing an electric fan, and I wanted to buy an oem thermo fan switch or something reasonably priced (under $20). I have heard that certain oem camaro switches turn on at 230 or above. I'm looking for something around 190. Anyone know where to buy something like this?

Thanks,
Tom

most of the aftermarket electric fan vendors offer them. I just picked up a 195, but for the life of me I can't remember the company....Jet?? Anyway, go to a site selling aftermarket electric fans and they usually will list them as an option fairly cheap.

I just installed the full DeWitts package w/ 2 electric fans.....It came with wiring harnesses and a 195 sensor.... You should be able to find a 195 sensor at summit/jegs.

I went with an "adjustable" thermo switch so I can calibrate it with my temp gauge. With the thought of 2 different locations possibly being 2 different temps

I am putting together a '79 fan switch from Autozone (Wells #TU65 $7) with a '79 fan onto my '76. I bought a 12V relay from Radio Shack ($6.50) and will wire it to kick the fan on. I tested the setup last night with water at $180 degrees and it kicks the relay on, which will supply voltage to the fan. I have a wiring diagram from Summit that they got from Be Cool. Let me know if you want a copy emailed to you. Also, I may have to use a 3/8" to 1/2" brass reducer to thread in the fan switch, but I haven't gotton that far yet.

P.S. Are you working on a '68? I sold mine to a guy in Columbus, IN in 2003.

So the switch you got from Autozone has a 3/8" fitting then? I just found a 1/2" fitting online at Advanced Auto (Sorensen TSU63) but I am unsure if the switch comes on at 180.

I'll take that wiring diagram if you don't mind sending it to me. tkozaki1@yahoo.com Thanks a lot.

Oh I have a 74 not 68 but in my neighborhood there is a black 68 vert.

Tom,
The one at Autozone is a 1/2", and I think I need it to fit into a 3/8" port in the head, but I am not sure. I will email you the wiring diagram. If you have any questions, email me.

The guy who bought my white 68 coupe was Danish and his name was Krister, i think.
