Looks nice, especially since it uses those seals-it rod end seals.
Only, why did you go to those half moon washers, the rod ends won't do any swiveling so you could have gone with straight washers, even no washers would be fine. Why does it use 4 rod ends, and are they set up like in that lower pic???
I've never seen those seals before. Seems like they make the
sherical ends street-friendly. I need to get me some of those.
Where did you get those ?
Also, What do you plan to use for a center section for the bar ?
I have mentioned these seals many times. S[eedwaymotors sells them in packs of 10 if I'm not mistaking.
Huh ? Did you hear something ? Huh !
So, where can I get some of these seals ?
Honestly:
Really Marck ? I usually read all your stuff ... musta been drinking those days.
I don't recall. However, a picture here sparked my interest.
Still need to build spreader bar myself ... after the car is together.
I mentioned them in several posts, including one recently about durability of rod ends, I even mentioned I needed about 80 of those things
Speedwaymotors has them, look in the race car section under rod ends. From all the stores that have them they seem to be the cheapest. For a spreader bar they're not really that important as the rod does not move a lot, if any at all, you can get awat w/ cheap economy rod ends there.
The spreader is made up of the 1/2" rod ends and a piece of 7/8" x 0.065" 4130 tubing with the threaded sleeves welded to it. I'm making the brackets from 1/8th mild steel but boxed in for strength. The washers and seals were about 10$ more on the order. I may or may not use the washers but the seals will go on and I will retrofit my tie rod ends as well. All parts except the DOM tubing and the 1/8" stock came from http://swracecars.com
Nothing fancy going on here I just did't have a bolt to put the pieces together for illustration.
The other rod ends are for the rear suspension strut rods 5/8" chrome molly rod ends and 1" x 0.250" wall DOM 512 steel tubing.
I've got a set of bare metal Van Steel trailing arms waiting for me at his shop in FLA to pick up in a week and a half when I'm on vacation. I'm going to put brackets on them before I powder coat them to mount the upper strut rods for the 6 link.
I'm also going to stop at Vette Brakes and products to do some looking around and pick up a 4.5 inch dominator hood at USBody on my trip.

Thanks
I remember the post. I challenged him on the number required until he pointed out you need 2 per rod end. I forgot that little important fact.
