Muncie-inspection procedure?
I'd hate to put this in the car and have it go south on me...
Look at the countershaft hole for oil leaks or egg shape. Look at the bearing retainer - it should be smooth and have no ridges where the throw out bearing ride. Pull the sid ecover off and check the teeth for chips or even missing teeth. Look real close at the syncro smll teeth and the mating small teeth on the gear. This is where they wear and break from abuse. Look at the brass shifting forks, the wear pattern should be on the tips not a full 180* form tip to tip. If in doubt buy a good rebuilt kit and change out the bearings, syncros, and small parts. The video that Paul at 5 speeds sells is worth it to go over the tranny because he does it with just plain hand tools.

BTW, thanks again for the help with the pinion yoke nut setup awhile back, so far so good, I have no leaks and no noises from the rear end.

Glad to help.Roy- go to www.5speeds.com they'll list out parts and the video. Paul is a good guy and sells quality parts. I bough Muncie and ST-10 kits from him as well as other parts. First class operation.
Glad the differential is working out for you, good job
