Okay, so I'm installing some nice braided stainless hose and have (for not exactly the first time) run into a problem...the hose shown here completely blocks the carburetor inlet, so I can't connect the fuel hose to it. Firstly, what does this hose do (the orange one on the right side, connected to the intake)?
Secondly, I need to know if I can simply move it to the inlet shown below, as it would get it out of the way...

I agree that the orange hose should be your heater hose.
If you take off both fittings, can you verify that they connect to each other? If you can run a wire or tie wrap through and see that they are not blocked, then it should be possible to use this port so that you have access for your fuel line.
