Did all vettes 68-80? use the same rear diff?
In other words will the gears from a SB 1974 fit
a BB 69??
I believe the 74 uses a standard 10 bolt rear diff components,
is that correct?? Does the 69 use the same size??
'63-'79 are roughly the same rear end setups. There are changes. I think '63 has some odd year parts. '80-'82 use a Dana and is completely different. '74 gears will interchange with a '69.

The 63-79 Corvette IRS shares no parts in common with any of the 10-bolt GM variants. You need to stick with Corvette parts. The other posts are correct. You may also be laboring under the misperception that SB and BB differentials are different. They're not. There are variations in the pinion yoke and the axle stub shafts in some years but the differential and case is the same.

The parts are vette specific. The 63 and 64 used a dana carrier that wasn't too good and parts are not available. The 65-79 used the much better Eaton carrier. There were different spider gears and clutches used during this run-some good, some not so good. The housings from 63 - 70? were a little narrower then the later housings. The later housing are better suited for a 12 bolt conversion. The driveshaft yokes varied depending on the joint size. The bearing caps were straight on the earlier cars and later cast with a small knotch for shim retention? The BB and SB automatics cars used yokes with caps, the SB 4 spds used u bolts to hold the joints. The earlier setups used 5 line cap bolts before shifting to 6 line bolts. Different color coded posi springs were used. I think the stardard rating was 400 ft/lbs on those springs but I'd have to check. The posi were setup by shimming to get within a specified backlash range of the spider gears. There were never any drain plugs in a stock setup.

Is there any way to posatively identify a ring & pinion BEFORE I pull the 69 apart?? I bought a set about 30 years ago for my 74 SB & never installed, now I'd like to put them in my 69 BB car! I'd sure like to be sure & all I can tell from looking at them is the spline is 30 tooth
If they are a corvette set of gears they will fit. I don't recall the pinion yoke spline count off hand but could check if needed. The side gears in the carrier are 17 spline, but that's not what you were referring to.
