Just last week I got gas and when the cap came off, it sucked in air like you wouldn't believe. Air bubbles could be felt coming up from somewhere. I am assuming this is what is normally refered to as vapor lock. Any ideas on what to look into? It's a 78'. Thanks in advance...
That is not a vapor lock. It is a problem, possibly with your charcoal cannister or the line going to it is plugged. The cannister allows the gas tank to vent because the cap is sealed.

Make sure that you have the correct cap. I believe a sealed cap is used and the tank is vented through the charcoal canister. If the canister lines are plugged you can create enough vacuum to collapse the fuel tank. If your EVAP system is really screwed up you could probably go with a vented cap or drill a small hole in your current cap to relieve the pressure.
