Transducer problem
cable tip between the transducer ( the thing that
controls cruise control) and the speedometer. The
tip was comming loose. So the last time the cable failed
between the transmission and the td. The cable destroyed itself.
I bypassed the td and ran a non-cruise cable directly to the speedometer.
So today I pulled out the td to see what the problem really
was. The td had no binding and you cannot put the cable
in the wrong place they are different sizes. So with a new td
to trans cable, made a dry run on the bench. Good cables,
free running td, but assembled, they locked up solid.
The problem was, the last time I put a new tip on rhe td
to speedo cable, I inserted the cale in the wrong direction.
New red tip to the speedo head.
Transducers are a dog taking out and reinstalling. It works
great again.
Just thought this might help someone fighting the
cruise control.
