Same here. Damn suction's so strong it'l rip the skin off your hand. never seen that before. The resrictors working though, idles 800rpm, suction at idle has PCV piston at 50% open, kind of close but no cigar.

that's the problem. There's no guidance on such a simple part but each has a specific vacuum range. As for now I have 4 PCV's sitting on the workbench and I'm sticking to the "Bubba resrictor" since it seems to wrok but it bugs me.

bob to give you an idea. before with push in breathers I went thru 1/4 quart in 1000 miles, now it's 1/2 quart in less than 500 miles. If I'm forced to I'll go back to push in breathers but PCV's are so much cleaner, those breathers have always leave oil mist all over the chrome when "hotdogging" it on all 3 Vettes, my Mustangs etc. Reason why I switched. Just need to find the right stiff spring in the pcv for 16" vacuum. Someone out there knows the answer.

This may help. They list PVC "kits" for various 68 Vette engines.Just click on "parts index",then on "P". About $16, but no spec quoted for valves.

I never gave the PCV valve much thought. Go to the store, buy one, remove the old one and put the new one in. 15lb on this new engine and 0 oil consumption after 500 miles.right now I'm using a PCV that's inside an oil breather.

i hate the smell of push in breathers and will never have them.... are you valve covers baffled where the PCV valve fits in?

Yeah sort of, there's a half-*** baffle but honestly poorly designed and yes oil splash could get in there.
