Default Door panel removal

I need to pull my interior door panels and remove the outside door handles. Any tips?

If you have manual locks and windows, you'll need to get the special tool to release the handle & lock from their shaft.

Don't forget about the screws in the door handle, I missed those, and started yanking on it while they were still in there

I have the tool but don't know exactly where the clip is that you have to remove.

Does the auto parts store have the tool, or is it Corvette vendor time?

Should be able to find it at Auto-zone or Advance auto. It's a thin tool that slides between the panel and the handle. It's job is to release a U-shapd, small clip which hold the handle to the shaft.

Good luck.

I've had mine off many times fixing different stuff. Swapped out the orginal ones this weekend with new Al Kocke. That was a chore.

Good luck.

I made a tool out of an old straight edge screw driver and a vice. Just made the end of the driver look like a "j". On the very end of the driver, probably only the last 3/32 or so of the flat edge.

A-zone etc will also have "replacement" window handles and clips if you want to see what your fishing around for.
