Help please
First off I'm sorry for asking this here because it pertains to a car other than a corvette, but I need help with my other car, and I'm sure some of you can help me. My family has two Jaguar XJS's and one of them has a fuel problem. We replaced the fuel pump, but still no fuel. The pump doesn't run at all. We switched the relays from the other jag, but still no go. The pump will run if we run a wire directly from the positive terminal of the battery. Does this mean we have a short along the way? Any help will be greatly appreciated because I don't know very much about fuel injection and electrical fuel pumps. Thanks again, and sorry for the non corvette question.

You know you have walked right in to the stereotypical Jag characterization "you need 2 so you can have 1 that runs".
See if you can apply 12v to the output wire at the relay. If the pump doesn't run you probably have a bad wire. If it does, I would suspect a bad relay (I know you tried the other one) or a computer problem not telling it to turn on.

simple question but did you press the fuel pump reset button? they use these to turn off fuel pumps if the cars get in an accident its an inertia switch...usually in the trunk
