I was frustrated as heck ever since my left headlight would pop-up after I turned the car off. After troubleshooting all the tubes, I found a checkvalve by the firewall on the driver's side. I replaced it and BAM...problem gone!
The more frustrating part is after I fixed it, I searched the forum and found an old thread saying the same thing. So here's to those who troubleshoot for hours with the answer right in front of them!!
yup, remember to check that box on the search page for the archives - lots of great stuff in there. Took me forever to figure out why my searches never returned the older stuff. duh.
When I use my built-in sucker, I can't get the check valve to check. Even on a brand-new-from-dealer check valve.
Consequently, I don't hold any vacuum after the car is turned off. But I'm not having any trouble with the vacuum system (that I know of). You guys get the same thing?

It's possible that you have the same problem I have. I'm sure I have a small leak somewhere, but like you, when the car is running I have enough vacuum to operate the lights, etc. I don't have as much as I would if I had no leak, but I have enough to get the job done. My lights come up in a respectable time, but with full vacuum, they would snap up pretty quick. Consequently, it hasn't been real high on my list to find the source. You have a leak somewhere, but depending on your priorities, you may put this one on the back burner like me.
