Default 81 computer

I have pulled the computer carb and went to an older q jet. Also pulled the distributor and went with a HCI style. Question is I never unplugged the computer under the seat. If I do will there be any change in the way the motor runs as to now? Also I read today that the convertor in the trans will not lock up once unplugged. Should I be concerned with this? Thanks Randy

As you've got a non computer controlled carb & distributor hooked up & running then the computer is just trying to control some wires that don't hook up to anything. Unplugging it shouldn't make any difference in running (what does the Check Engine light do at them moment? Always on?). The converter lockup won't work but there's another post current where I gave a short answer on that
