I had no idea they were anything other than fancy tee fittings until someone enlightend me. I still didn't believe them until I tried to blow through one then it was obvious they were one-way valves.
Just for the record, on the 70, there are 2 anti siphon valves. One at each forward end of the washer hoses, for left and right headlights. No other valve or tee in the system. I also suspect that being a 5 port configuration, pushing the washer button squirts fluid to the wipers and headlights, unlike the split setup in 69.
I also agree its a poor system, but hey, I also have the TSC system. (trans controled spark).
Wonder what year has the most useless stuff!(sounds like a new topic possibility)
Yep. I did it so long ago can't really remember. I think the t-fitting is gone. Frankly, I'm just happy the windshield wiper washer still works. It's a funky design at best...especially when you compare it to the cars of today. That pulsing and clicking vs. the "whoosh" is laughable. However, I still love my car. This brings me to a New Topic which I'll post now. What is the worst feature of the C3? Look for it in a few minutes.
