Default Spark Plug Question - 72 LT-1

OK, guys, looking for some help for a mechanical newbie!

Just got a 72 LT-1 and am in the procees of getting the basics done - oil change, new air filter, etc. One of the things I was thinking of replacing were the spark plugs. I was on Eckler's and saw two of them:

1971-73 ACDelco Small Block Spark Plugs R44TS
Part# A3430
"ACDelco has a "totally correct" spark plug for your Corvette's engine. Sure, others work, but none will perfectly complement the ignition system."

and

1972-75 SplitFire 350ci/454ci Spark Plugs SF14E
Part# 29311
"There's nothing hotter on the market than SplitFire spark plugs. A quick comparison shows how this new design clearly distinguishes it from other plugs. Experts say the result is improved combustion of the air/fuel mixture as seen in better power, mileage and reduced emissions."

Anyone have any experience they can share? Should I just stick to the "original" type plugs or go with a little more modern spark plug? Putting the marketing hype aside, I'd like to get what's best for my Vette. This is a numbers matching LT-1 4-speed coupe, no mods, no a/c, no p/b, no p/b. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Gary

Stay with the original AC. I used Splitfire's a few years back and the only difference I noticed was the price. Just my .02 worth.

The stock AC Delco plugs are just fine, and you can get them at any auto store. The rest is just marketing hype.

For now. AC is phasing out the "old" plugs in favor of reboxed NGKs. Buy all you can of the old type now. I know I am.

Actually a change to NGK isn't a bad thing. Not like they are reboxed Champions. LOL Joe

I don't think the NGKs are bad, either. I'm just trying to give a "heads up" to anyone that wants the "old" AC plugs.

BTW - anyone here know what the "AC" stands for?
