Alarm Won't Stop
Anyways, I bought my first Vette, a 79 L-48, in pretty good condition this past fall. Now I have run into a problem- the factory alarm started to go off one morning and it won't stop. At first, I thought someone tried to break into it, but when I tried to shut the alarm off, it wouldn't stop. The only way I got it to stop was to disconnect the battery. Anyone out there have any idea what this could be? It sounds like a relay could be stuck or something, but I'm not sure... Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!
My problem was the connection at the keyhole on the fender. Try pulling the wire off the back of the key hole on the fender...the alarm should turn off (make sure you hook the battery back up). It is a tight squeeze to get your hand down in along the fender, but it isn't too difficult.
If that doesn't work the physical horn is on the drivers side engine compartment and has a yellow wire going to it. My wire was cut but I've since reconnected it now that I understand it.
