Whattya mean, no patience, he lays tons of floor tile every day, that is patience if ever was....
GENE
I'm not laying tile every day
I have actually done little work on the house recently. Lots of overtime at work and I've been busy with my 4 vehicles
Planning on finishing up the improvements on my current home before summer... Still have to decide if I'll sell this summer or if I'll keep it for another year to make the capital gains tax free
My home has gone up already from $330k value whan I bought it to about $450k right now...in less than 8 months
Might wait and see if it keeps going up...
I could also take out some equity and buy another fixer upper property. However, as long as I'll be as busy as right now, I would have little time to work on it...
Just got off the phone with Art Carr. I just checked with him if I'll need a second spring and he told me that I'll only need one...
Gonna put the tranny back together tonight and maybe I'll race tomorrow...
While I don't agree with alot of the stuff you do Oliver I admire your spirit. Through it all you keep plugging away to reach your goal. I admire that. I read all your posts lately because I hope you achieve your 10 second runs and I believe you will/hope you will.
Also the thoughts of you putting a 1000 horse blown bigblock someday down the road appeals to me. I hope I can give you good advice when it comes to a blown bigblock.
I have been in the 10.2 range years ago and lost my complete desire to pound on a race car but through you I can relive part of it again.
Good luck Oliver with the transmission, racing this week and the whole project and keep the meaningful post comming.
I will follow every one of them :

That's called a housing bubble. (Remember the stock market bubble of a few years back?) The trick is to figure out how to get your equity -- and the most equity -- before the bubble bursts.
If you don't believe me, check out BusinessWeek magazine from a couple of weeks ago...
Here in Florida, I highly doubt that the prices will drop for several reasons:
1) many retiring baby boomers from up north are retiring in FL and are buying homes here
2) space, especially close to the coast is limited which drives prices up
3) Interest rates are not expected to get too high.
My county is basically out of room for new constructions and existing properties will keep going up.
Oliver, you know i'ts getting that way in silly old inner state Clay county anymore....my stupid little house that is NOW 1600 ft under HVAC 1/4 acre....masonry on a hill, is now going for nearly 150k....up from the 75 total in the door I paid in '97, not the gains you all are getting, but I feel the backwash in the coming years will float this boat very nicely....
I see maybe 250k in another what?? 5 years??? whole lot of retirees that would LOVE this place....

Don't be too sure. I've seen it happen in a similar situation. Downtown Toronto...more than once.
They might dip but they come right back. Both my kids made about $100,000 on their homes in the last 10 years. I live very close to Toronto and am beginning to feel the squeeze.
Go and stick your stupid comments up your a**!
I can't remember any low 11 second time slips from you in your Vette! Not everyone who has a fast car needs to be, nor is a master mechanic! I'm doing and did all the major work on my car, but don't get too much into internals. There a doubters on whatever I do, but I've always proven them wrong. When I had my old 383 and my 5-speed and I was running mid 12's, lots of people predicted that I'll never get into the 11's... and guess what, I ran 11.60's with the exact same setup after tweaking it a little.
Right now, I have one of the fastest (if not the fastest) street driven, naturally aspired small block C3... I will hit 10's with that setup and shooting for low 9's or even 8's if I'l go with a blown big block in a couple of years... And guess what, I'll always achieve my goals! I always have!
Come on and show the track results with your Vette or STFU
DAYUM! That's the first time I've heard you get PO'd. I was beginning to think you didn't get upset about anything.

Very true,
but with over 105,000 posts one would think you would have learned something about the C3 by now. What the hell have you been doing?

Well, when I joined the forum in 2001, the only things that I could do was change starter motors, oil and interior pieces.... I would have never dreamt that I'd be changing engines, transmissions, rear ends all by myself... I also didn't know too much about engine dynamics, cams, etc.etc...
Way to go Olivier. Keeping my fingers crossed it holds up!
Dep
I hope so too... In the worst case scenario, I'll change out the valvebody to a full manual valvebody.. so I won't need the governer to shift the tranny anyways... The transmission should hold up otherwise to the power that I'm running... It's rated 800 HP. My output is at least 200 HP less than that..so I should be ok..
