Default rear spring question

Now that my rear end resto is complete, I am looking at my rear spring and wondering if there may be a problem. Although I did not replace it myself, the previous owner did prior to my buying the car. The original 9-leaf steel was replaced with a 7-leaf steel unit.

While the car was up on the lift, the spring had an arc. Now that it is on the ground, it has flattened out and it flares out on the ends. Is this normal?

I also own a '69.....there should be some arch in the spring when the car is on the ground to keep from "bottoming out" when driving.

If your spring is flat, it's bad. If your spring is flaring up, it's really bad. I would suggest you get a new spring asap.
