Hi everyone, I need some assistance to trouble shoot this problem with the ignition buzzer. When I start the car the buzzer goes on but does not want to shut off. I did have my seat belt on at the time but the thing is still buzzing. when I shut the car off and leave the keys in the ignition I dont hear the buzzing. When I turn the key to start up the buzzer does go on, but when it was working properly it would shut off but in this instance it keeps buzzing away. Any ideas ? - Thanks

i bet its wired into your seat belt mechanism so that it completes a ground and turns the buzzer off....i bet the grounding wire is shot or disconnected....
Its possible, but whether I have the seat belt on or not it keeps buzzing. Is there a way I can trouble shoot this. Is the buzzer for just the seat belt only or is it part of another warning system ?
I don't know 77's but on my 72, the if I haven't driven the car for a while the key buzzer sticks when I insert the key. I have torn this column apart to fix the buzzer and know that the key buzzer was in perfect shape. I replaced the broken buzzer with a new piece.
Long story short, squirt some WD40 in the key slot and work the key back and forth. It may work.
