Saturday I pulled my vette up on ramps to change the oil. When I backed off of them the fuel guage was stuck in the 3 o-clock position. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong and/or how to fix it. Thanks
could it be possible that the float part of the sending unit in the tank got stuck from being on an incline?
i would open the gas tank and look to see if i could see the float and make sure it moved. maybe get coat hanger and free it up when its almost out of gas...
I had the same problem once. You have loose connection in the fuel level wiring.
There is a two wire harness on the driver's side of the tank, check the connection there. The sender connections are on top of the tank. There is a sender and a ground. To get access, remove the lid (four screws around the edge) and then pull up on the rubber surrounding the filler neck.
I had a loose ground wire and it caused the same problem.
I checked the ground and it was good also grounded out the pos. wire and the guage went up to half tank, then removed the grounding wire and back to 3 O-clock it went. What else do you think it could be? Thanks
