4 speed rebuild
Does anyone have a source for rebuilding a 74 4 speed transmission ? Its having problems popping out of 3rd occationally .... Thanks in advance for your asssitance

Popping out of gear means worn sliders and/or forks. that's of course if you made sure the linkage is adjusted correctly. The tranny has to come apart for the sliders. Since you're taking it apart anyway get a rebuild kit. Make sure the kit includes a new counter shaft (not all do). Sliders and forks are not part of a rebuild kit so you need to get those separately. The website above is a good source for parts and they are also knowledgable.

Did a rebuild for the first time this winter. I must say that it's pretty straight forward. I think the hardest part was to install the Muncie in the car again.... And you will need a press to take it apart.
Mine popped out of 4th gear and it was the slider that was worn. Bought a slider and rebuilt kit, that's all.
