Default New AirCon system...

received air conditioning system from Hot Rod Air today. Did a little mock-up and installed the HVAC controls on the original thumbwheel controller.
I added some pics to my pictures off to the left....not sure when they'll show up.
Looks like it's going to fit just fine. I couldn't add the mocked-up unit inside the passenger compartment due to daily limit. I'll add that later.

Default How Cool?

Thank you for your post on the Hot Rod Air system. I am right at the start of this myself. How does the system function? How is the usage of the original factory contols working out. I didn't get any information with the kit about how to convert the controls and the pictures of the rest of the system installation are lacking. You would think a business trying to sell to the corvette after-market would really try hard to supply good documentation. Thanks once again for your picture posting. --muleman

Default It's put together...

I got the system put together this past week. I was hoping to get it done this past week, however on Friday I had to redo the wiring harness to my fuel injection to go around the A/C box.....well, with the splicing of about 60 wires I must have screwed something up. Car turns over and starts but dies shortly thereafter. Going to do some troubleshooting today see if I can solve that. Meanwhile I have some pictures in my pictures section off to the left here if you want to take a look.

I agree that the instructions need some help. However the individual helping me at Hot Rod Air responds promptly to my emails so I've been getting quick answers to my questions.

Great! Thanks for posting those pics. I see you're using the non-AC controls?

I'm interested as I may head down this road too, maybe next year.

does the new AC wiring replace the old factory wire going to the controls or do you still use the factory harness too?

Default Has all it's own wiring...

It only needs a power supply, so I ended up using the old power supply to Heater/Blower.
