Q-Jet Choke
I have had non-stop Q-jet problems, but I will not give up.
Does anyone have a picture of the correct way the choke adjustment can and fast idle cam are supposed to look?
I have a 79(?) Q-jet and I put the electric choke on. It doesn't come off of fast idle unless I manually kick it down on the carb. I was planning on measuring the choke lever with a 0.120" feeler, but it seems like the linkage inside the housing doesn't rotate counter clockwise enough to lift the cam above the hole where you measure from.
Something else I thought of, there is only one wire going to the electric choke. I pulled it out after it was running for a few minutes, and the bimetallic strip wasn't hot. Shouldn't there have to be a ground wire as well to complete the circuit?
If anyone has Lars' choke paper, that would be great.
Thanks
