While pulling the pieces to get the bad cam out today, I tried to pull it without pulling the AC condenser. I lack about 1/2" from pulling it out :banghead. I did get to see the lobe that I wore off the the cam.. looks like a perfect little ball... now on to my question. Are there mounting fasteners for the AC condenser on the bottom? the top moves without issue, but I could not see any fasteners holding the condenser in. Am I too dense to see them or am i missing something?
There are two brackets at the bottom which are not visible from above and are might nigh impossible to loosen while the nose and vacuum canister are in place. If you have a truely flexable extension for your socket wrench, you might be able to loosen them. They look to be 3/8".
Yes I went through this also But the rust helped out alot as the fastners just snapped off. I wish they designed radiators & condensors with hole in the middle for cam changes. That would make life alot easier>>

I would just leave the condenser on.
I think u just need to tip/tilt the shroud, radiator core, core support sandwich forward enough to remove the cam. To do that u need to remove the headlight actuators and the side bolts holding the core support in place (6 bolts in the fender wells). The headlight actuators take some double jointed wrists but slow down and look it over from the top and from underneigth. This way the condenser and the rest of core sandwich stays in car.
I removed the whole core support and sandwich but had to replace my broken shroud anyways (ended up replacing shroud, core, core support and every bracket thanks to previous Bubba job).
Good luck. cardo0
