Any noticeable difference using Braided Brake Lines?
After some recent work my brakes are great...installed a new MC and proportioning valve work. I now have great braking power. The peddle also feels good. Been thinking about also upgrading to the flexible lines.
Question to those of you who have upgraded to braided lines from rubber, did you find any difference? opinions please.
Hi Doug,
I've used both and really could feel any difference. If you're driving a nice street car the rubber lines will be fine in my opinion. Sounds like you have the car ready to drive now- that's what I would do. You know if you hang around with your neighbor too much he's going to have you installing a blower and roll cage

On the weekend Doug was talking about a blower.
I too feel that normal rubber lines in good shape are all you need.
How's the cage coming? I'm with you on the SS flex lines. I don't think that the minimal bulging of the rubber made much difference. I'm not down on c-3 brakes though. I'm using PF carbon metalic. once they get hot they really get grabby. I don't know if it's a sound or a feeling first. But I stomp on the brakes at high speed and you glance in the mirror and I'm leaving blue smoke and wide long black marks. The car stays straight.
The larger the diameter of your tire the less effective your brake rotor is

I have to admit it...living around the corner from Norval is certainly having an effect. It is one thing to see pictures of his vette and his many improvements. But when you see his machine in person rolling past the front of your home with that blower and rims/tires it is...well...very temping. Where to start...hmmm
I really did not want to open my brake system to replace my two year old rubber lines without good reason. But I would not hesitate todo that if consensus was that the braided lines did make a noticable difference. I see a few people thought it did, but many more did not find a difference.
Based on your input, I will not bother to replace them now...I will wait until sometime in the future when I have the system back apart for service. Thanks again.

Its going to be just a roll bar at this point. The wife is sick of me working on my car and i'm getting tired too. I don't want to install side supports across the doors because i use the car almost every day.
I'm trying to get it ready for NHIS practice on next Monday. Somehow, we need to establish a C3 road course subculture to help improve these cars for that purpose.

It must be fun driving behind you on the freeway
IMO - Next time you do your brakes instal the DOT S/S lines.
I installed them all the way around and the difference was huge. In fact, you have to lighten your touch on the pedal because the brakes engage NOW! I can't imagine how some people didn't feel a difference with them. In my case the difference was dramatic.
