so after going to Redline, where are you now and did they help you figure out your problem? I am so glad that MountainMotor did all the planning/design for my striker 4 years ago and had Santo to help me assemble it all as I never had these teething issues other than my Holley that leaked. If I ever have to replace this engine it will be with a new Z06, do away with carb drop in a 6 sp and foget 'bout it.

Well there are a lot of things that still need to be done. Unfortunately Redline, like many other shops don’t particularly like the Q-Jet and did not have any jets in stock. The car is running supper rich. The secondaries with all the linkages were not opening, when we got them to open they opened too soon. The mechanical advance in the distributor seems to be limited so when it was tuned to 38deg total idle is around 20deg.
And the chambered exhaust sounds like open headers, I like it but you’d need to be looking out for the cops every time you drive around the block.
I’ll let Desi fill you in on the #

BTW: I’ll be up in your area this coming Thursday or Sunday (5th June) returning from Barrie automotive flea market if you want me to drop by I’d be happy to.

I have a question. When you talked to Comp about this build up did they recommend the 256 cam? If so, what did you tell them about your parts combo. I can see them recommending this cam for a stock or near stock compression ratio but I can not understand them doing so for those heads. This cam would be great for a stock compression ratio engine and 3.08 gears. But not with those heads. As a mater of fact the heads are the only thing that doesn't match the combo.

Later.....

I told them EXACTLY what each part was going to be. Right from intake to muffler... That's why I am this disappointed

I may swap just the heads, if I can sell them at decent price. I really don't want to go through another cam swap.

Just a thought I know this is new set up but when my dad owned a
vette about 7 years ago I drove it and the cam went bad and when
you stepped on the gas the car would fall on its face no power at all
so I think you may want to look in that direction just thought though good luck
