Default Harmonic Bal Install ?
Was putting on my harmonic balancer (454) yesterday and I could not get it to go completely flush with the crank snout. I had a about 1/32 of damper ridge left. Is is this ok/normal - (been a year since I took it off and can't remember what it looked like) ?

Yep, that's the way it's supposed to be. The big washer and bolt that secures it needs to press on the dampener, not the crank so that's why the crank is slightly recessed.
