I'm currently "in process" (long, long, process) of scrutnizing the final details (so many) in preparation to switch my 81 auto to an 80-71 4 speed. (trans is 71 muncie, bellhousing etc and driveshaft are out of an 80) ANYWAYyy, the switch is located on the clutch pedal. The back up switch is located on the side of the 4speed tranny.
the automatic has them linked together on the shifter in the center console. I'll have to piece together the harness from the switch to the other end presently beside the auto shifter. I don't particularily want a clutch safety switch so I can start in any gear by pushing the clutch in. good luck, jim
Jim: This is not the same location for the clutch switch on a 1972 Vette. The switch is located on the pedal bracket. It's possible they changed them later in the C3 production.
