Default Heater core bypass

What size fittings do I need to bypass the heater core? Iwant to plug it at the water pump and also at the intake. Do I put anything on the threads? thanx

Either 3/8" or 1/2" npt (national pipe thread) 99% sure it's 3/8". The plugs are less than a buck a piece and are available with an allen head that looks a lot better than a square head sticking out. I use either a little "pipe dope" or teflon tape-either is fine.

i don't think so on my 77 they are two different sizes, 3/8, and 1/2.

They may be different sizes like mentioned above just get two of each and you're good one way or the other. It's less then 5 bucks for all of them, that's cheaper than the gas to get them.
