before i supersized i used a stock edelbrock one off the shelf, i did have to get the black plastic spacer to raise the bottom of the housing above the front of the choke horn, i seem to recall having to trim this also to make it fit.....no big deal
I ordered mine through Napa's performance book, got it overnight.
I too needed the spacer but it also has the dropped base.
Not sure of part numbers but it's the 14" Edlebrock with the dropped base. I think 3" thick

Go to www.bigbauto.com They also sell on Ebay. They have an open element 14" breather that is identical to the stock LT 1 breather for a great price. Works good - last a long time. I think it is actually cheaper on their Ebay Store than their website. Just be careful when you SLAM your hood the first time....check that you have good clearance ! Be sure to get the "recessed" base - not the "flat".
