Default Where to put fan temp switch

Just finished up the install on my electric fan form Dewits. Fired it up and the fan came on withing about 3 minutes. The temp at the thermostat was only 125 degrees. I have a on at 185 off at 160 switch. Even with a 195/170 switch I think it will come on early and run all the time. In a short drive the fan never shut off and the temp at the thermostat never went above 160. The radiator was only about 150 to 160. Obviously the cylinder head is not the place for the switch. I was thinking of having a bung welded to the radiator. Where are you guys running the switch.

Also installed the VBP speader bar. Seems to tighten things up a bit. I'll load in the pictures later of the fan and spreader bar.

I bought the single Spal fan from Dewitts. Easy install. I have to go out in a little while I'll try to get the pictures up tonight. Here is a small shot. I'll do better later
This is a little better shot

i have tried 2 places so far, first I made a tube that installed in the lower return hose from the radiator,I was told this is the best place to do it ??? I wonder .This was with a small block radiator, fan cycled often.I just installed a huge aluminum (Be Cool )radiator and moved to the passenger side of the block went for a short drive this morning, fan never turned on once.Tonight I am going out to a car show,I will get a better feel for it tonight.
