As I recall, they have the same height but the EPS have special port to promote the midrange power for towing application.

The ESP is about 0.25" taller at the center point.

I have the ESP on my mine but I haven't had much seat time since installing.

Does anyone know if these intakes are higher then stock intakes? I have a performer and I would love to put it on my 79 L48 (rebuilt - .30 over, cam, stock heads for now, stock exhaust). I still have the double snorkle air cleaner. Also still using a reman Q-jet carb.

I run a Performer intake with a Quadrajet and stock dual snorkel a.c. and it fitted with a little help under the stock hood. I just had to lower the air cleaner by 1/16" approx.

Also, I believe the regular performer for a small block chevy is a spread bore intake where as the EPS is a square bore intake.

Correct' The EPS is for a square bore. I am using a EPS with a Edelbrock 1406 600CFM and drop base air cleaner on a 77 with no clearance problems and made a big difference.Engine just seems to run better overall with this manifold.

Bubba took my hammer and did it. I gently bend the part that goes on the carburator. It could be cut too with a rotary tool.

The performance increase was from a stock L-48 to a roller cammed vortec engine so I can't tell about the intake alone.
